The Town was Paper part 1
Multimedia by KBovey
My artwork is based upon the novel Paper Towns by fishingboatproceeds (John Green) and represents the fragility of the written word and the fandoms built around them. A fandom is a kingdom or domain of fans that come together to discuss and empathise with the characters in a novel or film.
Viewers are invited to interact with the sculpture by moving the buildings and houses and also use the template provided to construct their own paper building to add to the town, therefore participating in the expansion and evolution of fandoms as a whole.
“The town was paper but the memories were not.” – John Green
So I remember right when I signed up for Facebook I looked up Hank and John Green and became fans of them RIGHT away (this was in 2008) AND IT LOOKS LIKE HANK GREEN MESSAGED ME BECAUSE I WAS HIS SECOND FAN ON FACEBOOK WTF
I was just going through old messages AND I LITERALLY HADN’T SEEN THIS UNTIL JUST NOW OH MY GOD
If you need any pizzamas content, you know where I’m at.
Every once in a while I just want to write down the things I did if ever I’m looking at my blog in 20 years, I’ll be like “OH GOD! I was worried about SO MANY THINGS THAT WERE SO DUMB!” So here’s my list:
- Woke up
- Blogged about the new Hanklerfish shirt.
- Went to pilates (I go to pilates at…
Ooohhh, and a cute design with our TFIOS duvet cover and pillow…
Oh neat, a TFiOS bedroom to match my Paper Towns bathroom.
That is correct…it was a Pizzamas design from a couple years ago. I’d love to see if other people still have there’s…we only sold a couple hundred. Send me your 2012 Pizzamas shirts…if you have them!!
I own zero pizzamas things. It has left my life a hollow shell.
I am doing a thing wherein a have a temporary tattoo everyday of my senior year of high school. Tomorrow’s tattoo, my favorite meme in the Pizza John genre.
Tree B would simply be a clone of Tree A…genetically identical but a different organism pretty much the moment you disconnected it from Tree A. Just because two things are genetically identical does not make them the same organism (see Jack and Finn Harries.)
Also, a genetically identical tree wouldn’t look the same as another tree as the shape of the tree is determined by environmental, not genetic, factors (as you say.)
What about the Ship of Theseus?
Yes, and it was a very big (secret) project, that took me a bit longer than I expected, and there were delays in the manufacturing (on their end) and it missed John’ birthday, and while not overly happy with it, I’m sure we’ll all survive.
Remember that one time I stayed up until 5am drawing Ansel’s and Nat’s legs, got an hour’s sleep, got up to do some stuff, made this in 7 minutes, went back to sleep, eventually woke up again, and this was the single most popular, successful thing I’d ever made in my entire life?
Life is dumb and stupid and amazing and I love it.
So this was in the morning paper.
This may be an obscure term - an esca is the technical name for an anglerfish’s lure.
I also had ‘dry eyes’, but they looked super weird on the squirrel.
